Modern Modular data centers (MDC) will be installed at Russian nuclear power plants
Rosenergoatom Concern (part of the Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation) has successfully completed the stage of development of design documentation and information model of a modern modular data center for Novovoronezh NPP (branch of Rosenergoatom Concern, Electric Power Division of Rosatom State Corporation). This is a comprehensive solution to ensure the continuity of IT systems of any enterprise.
Novovoronezh NPP will be the pilot site where this solution will be implemented.
Novovoronezh NPP (Novovoronezh, Voronezh Region) will be the pilot site where it will be implemented. Further, it is planned to be replicated at the Balakovo and Smolensk nuclear power plants by the end of 2025.

So far, these data centers are intended only for NPPs, but this area has a commercial future in the long term. As with many other cases, we first implement them in-house, and then we can offer a solution with a positive reference outside"
The project is focused on increasing the level of technological sovereignty and ensuring long-term demand for high-tech products and is of systemic importance for the functioning of the economy and solving socio-economic tasks of the Russian Federation.
The modular data center is a manufactured and tested complex solution that allows to promptly put into operation the server infrastructure and ensure continuity of operation of IT systems of enterprises.

Manufacturing and assembly will be performed at the modern production site of ITK SYSTEM in Obninsk, Kaluga Region. The developed modular data center meets the requirements of fault tolerance of engineering infrastructure TIER-3 (according to UI classification).

Today we start production of the IEDC, which is scheduled to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2025. Large Russian companies pay much attention to the development of the digital economy and the necessary IT infrastructure.
